April 12 – Republican Subbotnik
Funds earned from the republican subbotnik on April 12 will be directed towards the construction of an early diagnosis center for malignant neoplasms at the Republican Scientific and Practical Center of Oncology and Medical Radiology.
The positron emission tomography center at the Republican Scientific and Practical Center of Oncology and Medical Radiology is necessary for all residents of Belarus. With the help of the latest equipment, it will be possible to stop the growth of recurrences of this insidious disease. Positron emission tomography is the most modern and accurate method that allows for the detection of cancerous tumors as small as 1-2 mm. No other equipment has such a resolution. The justification for investing in this project is obvious.
In the Vitebsk region, the main improvement sites during the republican subbotnik will be memorial complexes, sites of military glory, partisan burial sites, and places of mass civilian deaths during the Great Patriotic War, as well as healthcare, education, and housing construction facilities. The epicenter of good deeds will be moved to the workshops of industrial enterprises, fields and farms, parks and squares, courtyards and streets of settlements in the region, and, of course, the facilities of the "Dazhynki-2014" capital in Horadok: a military burial site, the central square, a physical culture and recreation complex, and houses of crafts and culture. The scope of work is also planned for the territories of the regional children's clinical hospital and the Vitebsk Cadet School.
By tradition, mass participation is expected from young people, schoolchildren, pensioners, and all employees of organizations of various forms of ownership and state institutions.
The community cleanup day should take on a truly nationwide character as the republic prepares to fittingly celebrate the 70th anniversary of liberation from the Nazi invaders, and the declaration of 2014 as the Year of Hospitality. Furthermore, the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of World War I is approaching, which left a bloody trail on our land – hundreds of thousands of dead people… We have no right to forget these historical events, therefore all memorial complexes, monuments, and burial sites must be brought into proper condition. Preparations for the summer season at children's health resorts will also be carried out.
When participating in the nationwide community cleanup day, non-profit organizations, by decision of their employee collectives, may transfer funds in amounts determined voluntarily by the collectives themselves.
The procedure for transferring funds is stipulated in the order of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee No. 112r: funds are transferred to separate accounts of the financial departments of city and district executive committees with subsequent transfer to the account of the main financial department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee No. 3642003340018, MFO 635, UNP 300002612, branch No. 200 – Vitebsk Regional Directorate of OJSC "ASB Belarusbank".
