A 20-year-old man from Orsha inflicted 16 stab wounds on his grandmother
A young man in Orsha was sentenced to 8 years in a high-security penal colony for repeatedly stabbing a 67-year-old pensioner until his knife broke.
After that, the young man took another blade and continued his bloody deed.
Dmitry Voropayev, Senior Assistant Prosecutor of the Orsha District, explains the reasons for such monstrous cruelty:
– The grandmother reprimanded her grandson, who was drinking alcohol at home with two friends. After that, the "offended" young man took a knife. Fortunately, the victim survived; she underwent several surgeries and received long-term inpatient treatment. During the investigation, the accused fully admitted his guilt, but at the trial, in an attempt to evade responsibility, he changed his testimony and claimed that his friend had stabbed the grandmother.
He was not believed, and despite the pensioner asking not to punish her "blood" too harshly, he was sentenced to a long prison term. By the way, her grandson had previously been convicted of property theft and document embezzlement; he had only been free for a year and a half after his previous imprisonment. The young man still has the right to appeal the sentence.
