Significant preparatory work for this crucial socio-political event has been carried out in the Vitebsk region over the past three months. It is necessary to mobilize all services at the final stage to ensure that this phase and the main voting day also proceed at a high level.
This was discussed today at a meeting of the headquarters for assisting local authorities in resolving organizational and logistical issues related to the preparation and conduct of elections. According to Vladimir Terentyev, Chairman of the Regional Council of Deputies, all subjects of the electoral process are currently working to ensure that people have the opportunity to make an informed choice.
– Citizen activity during voting serves as the main criterion for assessing the effectiveness of local authorities and overall support for the state's policy, while voters' personal preferences indicate how they evaluate the performance of a particular candidate, – emphasized Vladimir Vladimirovich.
Therefore, there should be no minor details at the preparatory stage. As the campaign is taking place in winter, it is important to ensure comfortable conditions for voters at polling stations, and to consider many other factors so that citizens go to the polls in a festive mood. Moreover, the main voting day coincides with the culmination of Maslenitsa week, so the program of cultural and mass events will be expanded.
During the headquarters meeting, an assessment was made of the readiness level and quality of interaction among all services in providing organizational and logistical support for the election campaign.
Regarding the elections themselves, according to Dmitry Khoma, Chairman of the Regional Election Commission, the campaigning stage is proceeding calmly within the framework of the law, as evidenced, among other things, by the absence of appeals to the regional election commission on this matter.
