25 young specialists have joined the staff of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus for the Vitebsk region
Among the graduates of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Academy, Lieutenants of Justice, who arrived at their first place of work, are investigators of the Vitebsk Regional Department of the Investigative Committee Vitaly Ippolitov and Alexey Okunev. Both young men consciously approached the choice of their profession, considering it not only prestigious but also important and useful to society, which is why they enrolled in the investigative and expert faculty. After graduating, they were offered employment at the district department of the Investigative Committee. Here they underwent pre-diploma practice, proving themselves in a positive light as diligent, hardworking, and responsible employees. The cohesive team welcomed the new recruits. Each young specialist was assigned a mentor. Major of Justice, senior investigator Igor Zavorin, is helping Alexey Okunev to quickly master the basics of the profession, and Major of Justice, investigator for particularly important cases Maxim Zuev, is assisting Vitaly Ippolitov.
Experienced colleagues lend a hand to the arriving colleagues: they explain interrogation techniques, conducting face-to-face confrontations, peculiarities of drafting procedural documents, and provide practical support in the investigation of criminal cases. By the way, in the month that Vitaly and Alexey have been working in the district department, each has already managed to independently solve several crimes. For example, thanks to Vitaly's efforts, it was possible to identify the perpetrators who attempted to steal elite potato varieties from the experimental fields of the "Tullovo" agricultural enterprise. Currently, the theft committed by a group of individuals is under investigation, and soon the case will be sent to court. Alexey is clarifying the details of the disappearance of metal scaffolding from the construction site of a chapel in the village of Luzhesno. The main suspect in the case has already been found; now it is necessary to clarify all the details and circumstances of the crime, prepare and transfer the materials to the court for sentencing. Although these cases are not particularly important or high-profile, not so loud and complex, they allow young specialists to gain practical experience. With the same goal, mentors include Vitaly and Alexey in investigative groups for particularly serious crimes, involving them in inspecting the scene of the offense and participating in investigative experiments.
In addition, the young people also participated in a 3-day training for young employees, organized by the Investigative Committee Department for the Vitebsk Region at the cadet school in Luzhesno. In addition to theoretical knowledge, the officers of the procedural control department simulated various situations for the "recruits," such as crime scene investigation, seizure of material evidence, and collection of crime scene traces under difficult conditions, for example, at night in a forest. The training and methodological gathering is personally supervised by the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus, Valentin Shaev, who pays special attention to the development of this area of the Investigative Committee's activities and takes a direct part in developing the concept of such events.
