On June 27, a concert in memory of pianist Maria Yudina will be held at the Vitebsk Regional Philharmonic

27 июня в Витебской областной филармонии пройдет концерт памяти пианистки Марии Юдиной

Vitebsk once again joins in honoring the name of the great pianist Maria Veniaminovna Yudina (1899 – 1970), a native of Nevel (which, incidentally, was part of the Vitebsk Governorate at the time). This means that for the fourth season in a row, the musical world of the 19th – early 20th centuries will come alive in the concert. This time, the honors will also be timed to coincide with the 45th anniversary of the pianist's death.

The concert in Vitebsk, as tradition dictates, will take place on June 27 at 16:00 as part of the Nevel Bakhtin Readings, which are dedicated to outstanding personalities such as the philosopher Mikhail Bakhtin (the Nevel School of Philosophy is associated with his name) and Maria Yudina, as well as issues of cultural studies, musicology, and history. The event has been held since 1994, culminating in the publication of the "Nevel Collections".

In addition to the unique representative of the world of music – the Steinway & Sons grand piano, the concert in memory of M. Yudina will feature: Marina Drozdova (piano), Yuri Fedorishchev (singer, bass), Konstantin Zenkin (piano), Margarita Grossman (violin). The Vitebsk audience is given the opportunity to hear the performance of Russian musicians whose lives are closely connected with the name of M. Yudina.

The program includes works by composers of the 18th – 20th centuries.

Ticket price: 30,000 rubles; 20,000 rubles (for pupils and students)
