30 fouettés and Sergey Bezrukov. What will the anniversary IFMC in Vitebsk surprise with?

Will be performed in honor of the 30th anniversary of the International Festival of Modern Choreography (IFMC), which will be held in Vitebsk from November 15 to 19.

Viewers will also have a meeting with the Spanish "Carmen" and the famous Russian actor Sergey Bezrukov, who will appear before his fans in the image of a ballet star.

As Marina Romanovskaya, the author and mastermind of the festival, Deputy General Director of the Vitebsk Culture Center, said at a recent press conference, the program of the anniversary IFMC is unique, as are all previous dance forums, which are attended by representatives of different schools of modern choreography.

This year, artists from more than 20 countries will perform on the stages of the Vitebsk Concert Hall and the Yanka Kupala National Theater.

For the first time, the dance marathon will begin with a movie... And Sergey Bezrukov

As part of the festival, the film "After You," starring Sergey Bezrukov, will be presented. He was helped to create the image of a dancer by a long-time friend of IFMC, the famous choreographer Radu Poklitaru, who will head the jury of the Belarusian contemporary choreography competition this year. The film will be presented by its director, Anna Matison.

Sergey Bezrukov will present a special award for significant contribution to the development of modern choreography and personal contribution to the development of IFMC in Vitebsk. The name of the prize winner will be announced at the opening ceremony of the dance forum.

A gift for choreography lovers will be a meeting with the National Dance Company of Spain, which will bring its "Carmen" to Vitebsk. This performance received the Benois de la Danse Prize last year, which is considered the ballet "Oscar." No less interesting will be the productions "The Long Christmas Dinner" performed by "Kyiv Modern-Ballet" and "The Impostor" by the Ballet of Evgeny Panfilov.

– We have dreamed of inviting the VerTeDance company from the Czech Republic to Vitebsk for three years, and we have finally succeeded. The opening concert will feature the award-winning performance "Correction," with live music, imaginative sets, and brilliant acting. It's not to be missed! – emphasized Marina Romanovskaya.

On the same evening, artists from the National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theatre of the Republic of Belarus will take the IFMC stage with congratulations and perform 32 fouettés to Minkus's music for "Don Quixote" – 30 in honor of the anniversary and two as an encore.

The thirtieth festival coincides with the year of the national competition

IFMC has already received 30 applications from various cities in Belarus, with the largest number from Minsk and Vitebsk. The program also includes a concert featuring laureates from previous years, creative workshops by Russian, Polish, and Belarusian dancers, practical and theoretical master classes, and book presentations about dance.

In the foyer of the Vitebsk Concert Hall, exhibitions by Alexander Salivonchik and Anna Moiseuk will be presented, as well as an exposition dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the festival, titled "Museum-Archive."

Many will be interested in leafing through the chronicle of the dance forum, which originated from breakdancing, popular in the USSR in the eighties, and has grown to the heights of world contemporary choreography.
