75 white balloons will be launched today in Vitebsk in memory of the children burned in Khatyn
Today, Belarus will once again recall the horrific events of the spring of '43. 75 white balloons, symbolizing the souls of children burned in Khatyn, will be launched into the sky by schoolchildren of the city.
A remembrance evening dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Khatyn tragedy will take place today at 3 PM at the M. Gorky Central City Library.
The program includes a requiem rally, the opening of a children's drawing exhibition in the conference hall, a meeting with war veterans, former child prisoners, local historian Arkady Podlipsky, as well as a presentation of the book "We Speak, Children of War," published by the Oktyabrsky District organization of the NGO "Belarusian Peace Foundation," and the summing up of the results of children's drawing and essay contests.
