13.8 thousand residents of the Vitebsk region received targeted social assistance in January-August

August 6, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. State targeted social assistance (GASР) worth Br4 billion was provided to 13.8 thousand residents of the Vitebsk region in January-June. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the Committee for Labor, Employment and Social Protection of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee. In the structure of recipients, out of the total number of applications, 32% are single-parent families, 17% are complete families raising one or two children, 14% are large families, 1.6% are children with disabilities, and 26% are single citizens. At the same time, the number of the latter increased by 10% to 1060 people compared to the first half of 2009. In addition, targeted social assistance for the payment of technical means of social rehabilitation was provided to 802 disabled people of the third group and children under 18 years of age who were not recognized as disabled over six months, specialists added. Free meals worth Br6.3 billion were provided to 6152 children in their first two years of life in the first half of the year, which is 9% more compared to January-June of last year. -0-
