In January-August, 21.4 thousand residents of the Vitebsk region received targeted social assistance

September 8, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. 21.4 thousand residents of the Vitebsk region received state targeted social assistance (GASР) worth Br4.2 billion in January-August. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the Committee for Labor, Employment and Social Protection of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee. As of September 1, 8.9 thousand families and single citizens applied for GASP. A positive decision was made on 8.1 thousand applications. The main number of recipients of assistance were single-parent, large families, and single citizens. The recipients of GASP also include single disabled people of the first and second groups, families raising disabled children, and other categories of citizens. At the same time, throughout the year, when comparing quarterly, the number of recipients of targeted social assistance in the region remained virtually unchanged.
