Farmers in the Orsha district were the first in the Vitebsk region to thresh 100,000 tons of grain
The agrarians of the Orsha district have traditionally been the first in the Vitebsk region to surpass the 100,000-ton mark in grain harvesting, a BELTA correspondent reports.
The leaders of the harvest were honored in the fields of OJSC "Agrokombinat "Yubileiny". Creative teams of the district organized a concert for the heroes of the season, and the culprits of the celebration were also presented with loaves of bread made from the new harvest flour. In the district, which has been the leader of the harvesting campaign for several years, 80% of the areas sown with grain crops have already been harvested. "We plan to complete the harvest by the end of the week and collect at least another 25 thousand tons of grain. In parallel, we are sowing winter crops, all rapeseed has been sown. We also plan to complete the sowing campaign by the end of this week. This year, the structure of grain crops will change, we will focus on wheat, which gives the highest yield. This year, we also plan to increase the winter grain acreage to 25 thousand hectares," noted the Chairman of the Orsha District Executive Committee Igor Isachenko. He said that the experiment with growing sunflowers and sugar beets yielded good results. Corn also pleases the district's agrarians; it will be mainly used for livestock feed, the number of which in the Orsha region has exceeded 2,000 heads.

Alexander Subbotin also added that the harvesters of the Orsha region had only a few hours ahead of their colleagues from the Vitebsk region, who also threshed their first 100,000 tons of grain today.
