Farmers in the Verkhnedvinsk district achieved the highest yield in the region, harvesting 100,000 tons.
Farmers in the Verkhnedvinsk district are completing the harvest with a 100,000-ton threshing, as reported by the regional executive committee's agriculture and food department.
Thus, the region has three districts with a 100,000-ton harvest: Orsha, Dubrovno, and Verkhnedvinsk. For the latter two, such a rich harvest is an absolute record.
According to Vladimir Bykov, First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhnedvinsk District Executive Committee, Head of the Agriculture and Food Department, farmers were able to achieve this result thanks to selfless work and adherence to technologies. This season, the district has the highest grain yield in the region – 46.8 centners per hectare are harvested here. "We have about 2% of the areas left to harvest, we plan to complete the harvest completely in 2-3 days, and since the yield is growing every day, we expect to reach 47-48 centners per hectare in the end," he noted.
According to the regional agriculture and food department, 98% of the grain fields have been threshed in the region as a whole, with a gross grain yield of over 1 million 300 thousand tons, at a yield of 35.6 centners per hectare, compared to 28.4 centners per hectare last year. The Dubrovno and Chashnik districts have already completed the harvest.
