Vitebsk region agrarians must improve the quality of crop harvesting - A. Kosinets

July 26, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. Farmers in the Vitebsk region must improve the quality of crop harvesting. This requirement to agricultural workers was voiced today at a meeting of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee by its chairman, Alexander Kosinets, BELTA correspondent reports. According to the governor, a good harvest has grown in the region this year. The main task of the villagers is to harvest it in optimal terms. In pursuit of this goal, as well as bonuses for achievements provided for the leaders, many forget about quality. As a result, a significant part of the crop is lost for various reasons. "We must fight for every kilogram of grain, use all opportunities to harvest the entire crop from the fields without losses: use stalk lifters, properly adjust combine harvesters, involve the population in lifting lodged crops," Alexander Kosinets emphasized, adding that phosphorus and potash fertilizers were applied for a yield of 40 c/ha, and this year it has been achieved, so the closest attention to the quality of harvesting and the efficiency of equipment use will be paid in districts where this indicator will be less than 35 c/ha. Alexander Kosinets also demanded to increase the pace of harvesting to 5% per day, as well as to attract additional machine operators from cities to carry out harvesting in the shortest possible time. "Not a single unit of equipment should stand idle during this hot period," the chairman of the regional executive committee emphasized. -0-
