In accordance with the project, the complex will include a museum exhibition, folk craft workshops, a tourist bureau, agro-ecotourism estates, and other facilities. Thus, "Vidzy-city" will provide a full range of tourist services. Guests will be able not only to have a good rest and take exciting excursions to local attractions, but also to learn about the history and culture of the border region, and the features of national cuisine. Hired staff and employees of the educational institution will serve tourists. It is also planned to involve students, as in the near future it is intended to open a branch of Polotsk State University here for training specialists for work in the tourism sector.
The lyceum has all the opportunities and conditions for creating a tourist complex, its head is confident. Thus, the educational institution includes 600 hectares of land, 9 hectares of orchards, 2 leased lakes, its own aviary farm with ostriches and fallow deer, and a complex for breeding elite rabbit breeds. The lyceum also has experience in receiving guests: since 2005, students from various educational institutions of Belarus have regularly held their summer creative holidays here.
"Vidzy-city" is planned to open in 2010. In total, about Br200 million of the lyceum's extra-budgetary funds will be allocated for these purposes. All earned money will go to strengthening the material and technical base of the lyceum, as well as to the development of the Braslav district. -0-
