Activists of the BRSM of Vitebsk region will discuss the role of youth in elections at open debates

Activists of the BRSM from all districts and cities of the Vitebsk region will discuss the role of youth in the electoral process at open debates in the regional executive committee, reported the acting first secretary of the regional committee of the BRSM Dmitry Turoнок.

The regional stage of the republican youth project "Open Debates "VYBIRAY.BY!" on the theme "Peaceful Belarus - the country of my future!" will be held on September 29. 2 teams of 12 BRSM activists will take part in the discussion on issues of electoral systems, their role and functions in the political life of society, and forms of interaction between public associations and election commissions. About 100 youth leaders from all over the region, including members of the youth chamber of the Vitebsk region, will attend the debates as spectators.

The project "Open Debates "VYBIRAY.BY!" has already gathered many opinions and proposals during the district and city stages. For example, at the Vitebsk city discussion platform for polemics on the topic "Political stability is the key to the well-being of the country's citizens," young people were invited to reflect on whether absolute political stability is possible, to assess Belarus's multi-vector policy and electoral system, and to predict the path of the republic's development after the upcoming presidential elections.

"The debates traditionally consist of three parts: project presentation, exchange of questions and opinions, and a quiz. And in the final, authoritative experts, including representatives of political parties and public associations, will decide which of the two teams was more convincing," added Dmitry Turoнок. He emphasized that the youth project "Open Debates "VYBIRAY.BY!", which started on July 1 of this year, is designed to unite and direct the efforts of young men and women towards socially significant activities. The discussion topics at all levels were very diverse, but their essence is in the main thing: the choice of youth is the stability and prosperity of sovereign Belarus, the personal participation of everyone in the development of the country as a whole, and the desire and ability to work for the benefit of society.
