Акцент на новые формы и методы: итоговое заседание коллегии управления культуры облисполкома прошло в Орше
Culture reflects the level of development of a person and society. It is one of the foundations of our ideology. This opinion was expressed by the President's Aide – Inspector for the Vitebsk Region Anatoly Linevich at the final meeting of the board of the regional executive committee's culture department, which took place in Orsha.

- It is evident that thorough work is being carried out in this direction, – noted Anatoly Linevich. – The library system is an example. Today, any villager can receive services such as book delivery by a bibliobus right to their home. And the most important assessment of the work is the assessment of the people. We see only positive feedback. The pandemic has made its adjustments to the holding of mass events, and our cultural institutions are finding ways to work under the existing conditions.

The board discussed the results of last year and the tasks for the current one. The head of the regional executive committee's culture department, Petr Podgursky, reported that 929 cultural organizations operate in the region. In 2020, the Dubrovno District Historical and Local Lore Museum and the House of Folklore in Beshenkovichi were added to this list. The Palace of Culture "Orsha" was renovated and gained new life, and the Ushachi Children's Art School moved into a new building.

– Repairs have been carried out in the V. Lenin Regional Library, the Museum of the Hero of the Soviet Union M. Shmeryov, the Art Museum, the Town Hall, the Museums of Private Collecting History, Marc Chagall, Dukhovskoy Kruglik, and others, – noted Petr Podgursky. – Reconstruction of the former House of Services building into a children's art school in Ruba, the "Lyalka" Theater building, and the Vitebsk State College of Culture and Arts is underway. Also, work is currently continuing in the Museum of People's Glory named after the Hero of the Soviet Union V. Lobanok in Ushachi, the Rossony Museum of Combat Brotherhood, and the Lepel Regional Museum. The restoration of the building of the Museum of Combat Glory – a branch of the National Polotsk Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve has begun. We continue to strengthen the material and technical base of cultural institutions in Orsha and the Orsha district.

In 2020, 99.6 million rubles were allocated for the maintenance of cultural institutions and educational institutions in the field of culture. Despite the pandemic situation, over 90,000 mass events were held last year. Including three international ones. For the first time in the history of the "Slavianski Bazaar" International Arts Festival, the Grand Prix of the "Vitebsk-2020" International Children's Music Competition was won by a representative of the Vitebsk region, Angelina Lomako.

– Special attention was paid and is being paid to serving the rural population, – emphasized Petr Nikolaevich. – Within the framework of the Year of Small Motherland, 585 village festivals were held. Over 3000 creative groups are fruitfully working at club institutions. 17 elements of the Vitebsk region have the status of intangible historical and cultural values.

Among the tasks for the current year is the further intensification of the activities of cultural institutions, the introduction of new forms and methods of work.
