The 'Birds at the Feeder' campaign will take place in the Vitebsk region on January 18-19
It is organized by the public association "Protection of Birds of the Fatherland" (APB) to engage members of the "Winged Watch" clubs and all people who care about wildlife in feeding feathered friends during the cold season. In addition, a winter bird count will be conducted. To do this, nature lovers need to observe a feeder for one to two hours and photograph the birds that arrive at it. The photos can be posted on social networks with the hashtag #птушкілякармушкі and uploaded to a special album on "VKontakte". The authors of the most interesting photos will receive souvenirs from APB.
It is advisable to feed birds with unsalted sunflower seeds, cereal and grass seeds, millet, oats, but not with food from your own table.
Last year, during such a campaign, over two thousand participants fed almost 10,000 birds. The most frequently photographed were tits, tree sparrows and house sparrows, as well as common tits, jackdaws, rock doves, hooded crows, greenfinches, and bullfinches.
