If everyone does at least something useful for their small homeland, Belarus will bloom with new colors. This opinion was shared in a conversation with a BELTA correspondent by the Aide to the President of Belarus - Inspector for the Vitebsk Region, Alexander Subbotin.
"The declaration of 2018 as the Year of the Small Homeland is a powerful message for all Belarusians. If each of us looks back to our childhood, returns to our roots, and tries to do at least something for our small homeland, then, without a doubt, our country will bloom with bright colors. Even if you come to your native village and just fix the fence near your house, the overall picture will already become better. I fully support this initiative and am very glad that attention has been paid to the small homeland. Mine is near Vitebsk. I have a house there. I am constantly doing something with my own hands there and get great pleasure from it," the President's aide noted.
According to Alexander Subbotin, the concept of the small homeland for him is not limited to a specific settlement. "The small homeland is also the entire Vitebsk region. It is important for me to do as much as possible for the region so that it prospers," he said.
