Alexander Subbotin awarded the best representatives of the livestock industry of the Vitebsk region

Machine milking operators, pig and poultry farmers, zootechnicians and veterinarians, employees of breeding stations and farm managers of the region — more than 100 people were awarded with certificates of honor and letters of gratitude from the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, the Regional Council of Deputies, the sectoral ministry, the republican and regional committees of the trade union of agricultural workers, the regional association of trade unions, the Vitebsk Meat and Dairy Products Concern, the agro-industrial union, the Belarusian Women's Union, and the BRSM.

Thanks to the labor of livestock breeders, last year the region once again managed to exceed the four-thousand mark for the average milk yield per cow. In the Verkhnedvinsk, Vitebsk, and Orsha districts, it amounted to more than 5,000 kilograms. This result was surpassed by 40 agricultural organizations in the region.

– You not only ensure the food security of the country but also increase its export potential, – noted the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Alexander Subbotin, addressing the livestock breeders. – Despite the widespread introduction of modern technologies, your work still requires special knowledge, experience, discipline, and diligence. Your work achievements have significant socio-economic importance. You are sincerely dedicated to your cause and today you are receiving well-deserved awards.

Vitebsk region is focusing on the development of dairy and beef cattle breeding. This sector has enormous development potential. This opinion was shared with journalists today by the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Alexander Subbotin at the ceremony honoring the best livestock breeders of the region.

He emphasized that this area is very challenging, but at the same time profitable in the economy. The northern region has something to work on. The indicators should be better. At the same time, the main element of achievement is the professionalism of the workers in this industry. Many of them were present in the hall today. "You have proven yourselves not only as first-class specialists, but also as talented mentors," the governor emphasized during the congratulation:

- Annually, modern scientific achievements are introduced into production. However, your work requires special knowledge, experience, and discipline. It is not surprising that people who are sincerely dedicated to their work are employed in this profession.

The head of the region also emphasized that animal husbandry, which is based on the feed base and strict adherence to technical regulations, is rightfully the foundation for the development of the agro-industrial complex. The latter factor is important for increasing animal productivity. As specific examples, Alexander Subbotin cited the Orsha district, which leads in terms of average daily weight gain of cattle from year to year. It is 682 g. In eight farms of the region, the weight gain exceeded 700 g.

The head of the region paid special attention to the milk yield of agricultural enterprises. Last year, the region managed to exceed the 4,000 mark for average milk yield per cow. In the Verkhnedvinsk, Vitebsk, and Orsha districts, it exceeded 5 thousand kg. Among the leaders in milk production, receiving over 7.5 thousand kg of milk per cow, he noted "Larinovka" and the "Yubileiny" agro-combine (Orsha district), "MazolovoGaz" (Vitebsk district), and "Shaiterovo" (Verkhnedvinsk district).
