Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Alexander Subbotin congratulated the head of the Vitebsk Diocese, Archbishop of Vitebsk and Orsha Dmitry on the Bright Resurrection of Christ.
During the Easter meeting at the episcopal residence, Alexander Subbotin, presenting the bishop with a bouquet of white roses, expressed his attitude towards the Christian celebration – Easter. – This is one of the most important holidays of the year. I remember from childhood that we always celebrated the New Year, May 9, and, no matter the times, Easter, – shared the head of the region. – I think that for every Belarusian this holiday is imbued with warmth, comfort, it is in the heart. Easter gives joy to the soul, gives hope for the future.
– Christ is risen! Truly risen! – the Easter greeting sounded from the lips of all participants of the festive ceremony, among whom were the Assistant to the President – Inspector for the Vitebsk Region **Anatoly Linevich**, Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee **Vladimir Penin** and his assistant **Sergey Fadeyenkov**, Secretary of the Vitebsk Diocese Archpriest Vladimir Rezanovich.
Archbishop of Vitebsk and Orsha Dmitry, wishing joy and goodness to the people of Belarus and the leadership of the region, presented the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee with festive gifts – a beautiful souvenir Easter egg and ornate Easter cakes. He also presented Alexander Subbotin with an icon of the Holy Right-Believing Prince Alexander Nevsky, painted by the masters of the Vitebsk Women's Theological School.
