Alexander Subbotin congratulated the employees of the Vitebsk Regional Inspectorate for the Protection of Fauna and Flora on the 20th anniversary of the service's establishment
The solemn event took place at the regional philharmonic hall with the participation of heads of authorities and law enforcement agencies with which the State Inspectorate closely cooperates.
The State Inspectorate for the Protection of Fauna and Flora under the President of the Republic of Belarus was established on January 27, 2003. The main tasks of the structure include suppressing poaching, controlling the protection and use of fauna and flora, forest management, and preventing illegal logging. The staff of the department across the country is 545 people, with more than 60 in the Vitebsk region.
Congratulating the employees of the environmental protection service, the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Subbotin, noted that 20 years may seem like a short period, but there is already something to analyze and draw conclusions from. The State Inspectorate was born in a difficult time, and it honorably solves the tasks for which it was created. The most important thing is that there is more order in the forests and on the reservoirs.
– You protect what our country is proud of, what many envy us for. Nature is our pearl, – emphasized the head of the region and wished the inspectors more preventive work and fewer emergency situations.
