Alexander Subbotin spoke about his expectations from the All-Belarusian People's Congress
During the meeting, biosafety issues will be addressed.
"COVID has pushed us to engage more intensively in biotechnology. Not just to keep our finger on the pulse and develop advanced drugs, work with seeds, new animal breeds, GMO organisms, but also to anticipate threats that may come our way. These are not only diseases, but also introduced species that can break our ecosystems, disrupting the entire biological balance and so on," he noted. "Therefore, this direction is very timely and important, supported at all levels, including by the head of state, that such a part of security should exist. It is necessary to strengthen inter-sectoral interaction so as not to hide anything from each other, but only to solve emerging problems together," emphasized the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.
