Alena Lanskaya received the highest number of points at the Vitebsk-2011 pop song performers competition.

July 12, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA/. Belarusian participant of the international pop song performers contest "Vitebsk-2011" at "Slavianski Bazaar" Alyona Lanskaya is leading based on the results of the first and second competitive days, BELTA correspondent reports.

Out of 180 possible points, the young singer scored 179. On the first day of the competition, when young singers performed a song with a minus-one backing track, Alyona scored 89 points, and on the second day for her performance accompanied by the National Concert Orchestra of Belarus, she received the maximum score of 90 points.

 Following the leader are Vladimir Kvasnitsa from Ukraine with 174 points, David Dale from the Czech Republic and Ruta from Lithuania, each with 170 points. The top six also include Alisher Karimov from Kazakhstan and Kristina Scarlat from Moldova.

The Vitebsk audience, as always, was benevolent towards the young artists, greeting them with thunderous applause and not hiding their emotions if the jury's scores did not coincide with their opinion. Alisher Karimov and Vladimir Kvasnitsa won the sincere sympathy of the hall.

The competition performances have concluded, but the intrigue will remain until July 13, until the award ceremony itself, as the one with the highest number of points does not always receive the festival's Grand Prix. Furthermore, according to the competition rules, the jury may divide the second and third prizes. The Grand Prix of the XX International Pop Song Performers Contest "Vitebsk-2011" is $15,000. Holders of the I, II, and III prizes receive awards of $9,000, $6,000, and $3,000 respectively. In addition to cash prizes, the prize-winners and the Grand Prix winner receive the special prize "Lyra" and diplomas.

Twenty performers from 20 countries are participating in the XX International Pop Song Performers Contest "Vitebsk-2011". The jury is headed by the Minister of Culture of Belarus, Pavel Latushko.-0-
