A. Lukashenko: I am not going to excessively patronize the government as before
February 25, Minsk /BelTA/. Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko does not intend to excessively patronize the government in the new five-year period. He stated this today at a meeting with the new government and newly appointed officials, BelTA correspondent reports.
"I am not going to, as it was before, in the past five-year period, excessively patronize the government, its economic bloc, or the security bloc. Everyone knows the tasks ahead. If you need my help, please ask. If you don't need it, act, work. Work all together. You are people of the same ideological direction, who know what needs to be done and understand what is happening in the world," the President addressed the meeting participants.
He also noted that the new government of Belarus was formed mainly by the end of last year. This was done so that it could start working as early as possible, and from January 1, 2011, begin implementing the program adopted at the All-Belarusian People's Congress.
"There were a few people left who were recently reappointed. I will tell you frankly, I had certain hesitations about these candidates, but not because they were not working hard enough or were working poorly. It's just that these people were less noticeable," Alexander Lukashenko said. "But I think these people have potential and can work quite successfully."
The President explained that this meeting is being held two months after the appointments also so that the Prime Minister, the new Deputy Prime Ministers, who have been set fundamental tasks, can look around, study the work of the subordinate ministries, and establish contact with the governors. At the same time, the head of state emphasized that "there is no spontaneity or emergency here." -0-
