A. Lukashenko does not rule out that the parameters for providing housing to large families will be revised in Belarus

October 29, Brest / Tatyana Polezhay - BELTA /. Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko does not rule out that the parameters for providing housing to large families will be revised in Belarus. The head of state announced this today while communicating with residents of Brest, according to a BELTA correspondent. "Regarding housing, we may revise our positions: three children - a three-room apartment, and even, possibly, almost for free. We will also look into providing additional assistance for child maintenance," the head of state said. Alexander Lukashenko reiterated that it is necessary to increase the birth rate in the country. "If there are no children, there will be no country," he noted. As for Brest, according to the city mayor, a large amount of housing is being built here annually, which has made it possible to reduce the waiting list from 17 to 7 years. Residents and guests of the city, during Alexander Lukashenko's walk along the pedestrian street in the center of Brest, also touched upon the topic of salaries. The President assured that the task set to bring the average salary to $500 in equivalent by the end of this year will be fulfilled. He also recalled that a year earlier another task was set - to raise the lower salary threshold to $200 in equivalent. "I agree, salaries need to be increased. But no one except Belarus is raising this issue," the head of state said. "We have spoiled people a little. Salaries must be earned." -0-
