A. Lukashenko congratulated Orthodox Christians of Belarus on Christmas

January 6, Minsk /Corr. BELTA/. Head of State Alexander Lukashenko congratulated Orthodox Christians of Belarus on the Nativity of Christ. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the press service of the Belarusian leader. As the President noted, for more than two millennia, this great celebration has brought bright joy and hope, taught to follow moral commandments, show love for one's neighbor, and do good deeds. "In the Christmas days, we rediscover the simple truth: where there is no harmony, trust, and mutual support, there will be neither happiness nor fullness of being. And if we want to change life for the better, then first of all we must preserve the spiritual strength and unity of our people, educate the youth on the basis of traditional values and ideals of Belarusians. Only unity will make us strong, free, capable of transforming the world, and will become the basis for new achievements," the congratulation reads. Alexander Lukashenko wished his compatriots good health, good spirits, and success in their work for the benefit of beloved Belarus. "May the warmth of the blessed holiday of the Nativity of Christ constantly warm your families, help you to be more caring towards each other. May the coming year delight you with new achievements, bring comfort, prosperity, and mutual understanding to every home," wished the President of Belarus. -0-
