Addressing the appointed heads of housing and communal services and the construction sector, Alexander Lukashenko urged them not to seek simple solutions during the current period and to be guided primarily by the interests of the people in their work: "You need to protect the interests of the people. This is what you should start from. Look for reserves within yourselves."
The Head of State also asked those appointed to leadership positions in local executive bodies to make working with people the main law in their activities. "Tomorrow you will come to the people, although you haven't left them, you will come with a new portfolio, and they will look at you differently," Alexander Lukashenko noted. "It's a completely different situation when you meet a person face-to-face. You not only tell them about the situation that is happening but also explain the reasons and consequences." At the same time, the President emphasized that if citizens seek help, it must be provided immediately.
While approving the appointment of Belarusian Consuls General in Istanbul and Odesa, the President noted: "Your experience, both in Turkey and in Ukraine, will be very useful to us in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs."
Regarding the work of the new Ambassador to Tajikistan, the Head of State emphasized that it is a very friendly country to Belarus. "We have very good relations with the leadership of Tajikistan, and we need to find an opportunity to expand trade and economic cooperation with this country," said Alexander Lukashenko.
Addressing the new Ambassadors of Belarus to China and India, the Belarusian leader noted: "We have excellent relations with the PRC and very good relations with India. We must be more active in working in these markets, in our relations with these states. Therefore, I am keeping the development of relations with these two giant states, which are developing very effectively today, under special control, and in the future, the global economy will grow, primarily, at the expense of these states."
"We must find our niche in the economies of these countries. Build relationships in such a way that our economy benefits maximally from the development of these states," Alexander Lukashenko emphasized.
Commenting on the appointment of Viktor Buri as Ambassador to China, the head of state specifically noted that this is by no means an "honorable exile." "If he works well there, it will be more important than his work as Deputy Prime Minister. We have a base there, we have a foundation. But to say that we have maximized what is possible – that is not the case. I expect a striking increase from you in the direction of the PRC," the President said.
In general, according to the head of state, in the near future, it is necessary to return to the work of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs precisely in the sphere of foreign economic activity. "Perhaps we should strengthen this foreign economic vector, up to the creation of some powerful center in the country that would deal with foreign economic activity, and more specifically, with the export of our goods and services," the Belarusian leader suggested.
"We need to strengthen foreign economic activity now. If a second wave of the global economic crisis hits, we will not be able to do without diversifying our economic relations with other states, we will need to look for other markets," Alexander Lukashenko concluded.-0-
