A. Lukashenko demands impartiality from Belarusian scientists on the issue of rehabilitating Chernobyl lands

April 26, Narovlya / Tatyana Polezhay - BELTA /. Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko demands impartiality from Belarusian scientists in matters of rehabilitating lands affected by the Chernobyl NPP accident. The head of state stated this during a visit to the Narovlya district today, BELTA correspondent reports. "One request to scientists: you must be impartial and objective. If you can't, then you can't; if you can, then you can; if you don't know, then say so, because this involves billions of dollars. We need an absolutely real picture," the head of state said. Alexander Lukashenko stressed that much depends on scientists in matters of rehabilitating lands affected by the Chernobyl disaster. "It's not even about self-financing, but about your civic stance. We listen to your opinion. You must be impartial and objective, because if you are not, we will find out and stop listening to you," the President noted. Alexander Lukashenko emphasized that the state does not blindly go to lands adjacent to the territories of the Polesie State Radiation-Ecological Reserve. "Objectivity is very important to us," the President stressed. -0-
