A. Lukashenko demands strict control over the quality of housing under construction
March 9, Minsk /BELTA/. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko demands strict control over the quality of housing under construction. This issue was one of the central topics during the report to the head of state on March 9 by the Chairman of the State Control Committee Alexander Yakobson, BELTA was informed by the press service of the Belarusian leader.
The President was informed about the results of the SCC's work in 2010 and the tasks for 2011.
The focus of the meeting was on strengthening control over housing construction and its quality. As the results of the work in 2010 showed, there are still many unresolved problems in this area. Thus, last year about 180 thousand square meters of housing were withdrawn from commissioning. The President demanded strict control over the quality of housing under construction so that such facts do not recur in the future. Alexander Yakobson assured that the issues of housing construction, its volumes and quality will remain under the strict control of the committee this year.
In addition, the meeting discussed in detail the issue of state support and the efficiency of its use. As reported to the head of state, according to the results of 2010, the number of inefficient projects that used state support amounted to about one third of the number of economic entities checked by the committee. At the same time, it should be borne in mind that a number of economic entities, due to objective circumstances, cannot work efficiently, in particular, this applies to some enterprises of the agro-industrial complex. The President instructed to conduct a thorough analysis of the situation and report the results to him.
More than 3,000 economic entities receive state support annually. At the same time, over the past few years, a negative trend of recipients of support failing to achieve the set target indicators has been clearly traced. A certain part of state support funds is spent inefficiently, while the main amount of inefficiently used funds is accounted for by the implementation of individual investment and innovation projects, which indicates insufficient elaboration of decisions on the need for their implementation.
The State Control Committee proposes to direct state support exclusively to repayable projects.
Alexander Lukashenko, referring to the overall work of the State Control Committee, demanded deep analytical work in the exercise of control functions. The Chairman of the SCC, in turn, emphasized that in 2011, control and analytical work will take on larger forms.
The President was also informed about a number of other current instructions previously given by him on specific topics. -0-
