A. Lukashenko: the process of creating agro-towns must be completed in this five-year period
April 12, Mozyr District / Tatyana Polezhay - BELTA /. The process of creating agro-towns in Belarus must be completed within this five-year period. This task was set today by the President of the country, Alexander Lukashenko, during a working trip to the Gomel region, a BELTA correspondent reports.
"Could we have ever imagined that our districts, Mozyr and all others, would be transformed so much," the head of state noted.
"It is important not to stop now. Each agro-town should add something every year, from roads to building houses. The farms themselves should get moving here," the President emphasized.
Alexander Lukashenko believes that the development of agro-towns should continue, but not at the expense of republican funds anymore. "Under no circumstances should we freeze at this level. It often happens that we start another problem and forget about the previous one," the President said.
As an exemplary case, Alexander Lukashenko cited the agro-town of Rudnya in the Mozyr District, which he visited today. Since the transformation of the village of Rudnya into an agro-town in 2008, there have been noticeable improvements in social and living conditions. A large volume of work has been done to improve the territory, the stadium has been reconstructed, a tennis court has been built, and major repairs have been carried out at the kindergarten, school, outpatient clinic, rural House of Culture, pharmacy, and post office. Work is underway to improve the lake. In 2007-2011, 27 private houses of the manor type were built and occupied in Rudnya.
"We need to bring all agro-towns up to the level of Rudnya. There is everything necessary for life here. From school, everyone here goes to technical universities and agriculture. One can only dream of this," the head of state said.
"We must settle these issues within this five-year period so that in the future we will no longer talk about the construction, transformation, and reconstruction of agro-towns. We must complete this process within this five-year period," the President emphasized. -0-
