A. Lukashenko: good weather gives Belarusian farmers a chance to harvest an unprecedented crop

August 5, Shklov District /Olga Bogacheva - BELTA/. Good weather gives Belarusian farmers a chance to harvest an unprecedented crop. This opinion was expressed today by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko during an informal meeting with journalists from regional media of Mogilev and Vitebsk regions in the agro-town of Alexandria, BELTA correspondent reports.

"The weather is ideal for harvesting. It couldn't be better," the President emphasized. He noted that farmers have already harvested more than half of the crop. Today they will reach the 60 percent mark. "If this weather holds for at least another week, we will have an unprecedented harvest. We have never seen such a harvest in history," the head of state said.

Alexander Lukashenko also drew attention to the high quality of grain and the volume of the harvested crop. "This includes the million tons of wheat that we always bought. Today, we have produced it as well," the head of state stated, noting the significant contribution of scientists and specialists to this achievement. "You have worked well, well done," the President concluded.-0-
