American business has shown interest in implementing a project in the Shagal Quarter in Vitebsk

June 25, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. American business has shown interest in implementing a production and tourism project in Vitebsk, on Pokrovskaya Street, where Marc Chagall was born. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by American businessman Jerry Ruchievsky. According to him, in early July, the director of a pension fund, who is interested in investing funds, will arrive in Vitebsk. His interest is due to a specific project of Vitebsk Winery OJSC, which is proposed to be implemented on Pokrovskaya Street, where Marc Chagall was born. The house of the Chagall family has been preserved on this street to this day; now the artist's memorial museum is located here. "Belarus is an attractive country for business. This attractiveness is due to its geographical location - practically in the center of Europe - and environmental safety. And the investment and tourism attractiveness of Vitebsk is associated with the name of Chagall," the interlocutor is convinced. He is confident that the project of the Vitebsk enterprise will be implemented through joint efforts. As the director of Vitebsk Winery OJSC, Vyacheslav Sapronov, told a BELTA correspondent, the project envisages reorienting the winery's wine production to the output of fruit and berry vintage wines, improving tea production, and creating a tourist complex based on the enterprise, which will include a wine cellar with tasting rooms, a restaurant, a cafe, a tea shop, an art gallery and an art salon, as well as a shop for tea and related accessories. The idea of this project is based on the fact that the Vitebsk winery is located in the territory that is part of the so-called Chagall Quarter, and the factory management is located in a building with the status of a historical and cultural value. The proposal for the reconstruction of the enterprise to make it a tourist facility was developed by a creative workshop under the leadership of the Honored Architect of Belarus, Leonid Levin. The famous architect proposed to give Pokrovskaya Street an appearance close to the early 20th century. Taking into account the special significance of the Marc Chagall House-Museum as a tourist attraction, create infrastructure here that is convenient for tourists with many souvenir shops, cafes, a hotel, an exhibition hall, and even an art school. -0-
