Anatoly Linevich: Vitebsk plant "Monolit" is a good example of public-private partnership

Vitebsk Radio Components Plant "Monolit" is a good example of cooperation between the state and a private investor. This was stated to journalists by the President's Aide - Inspector for the Vitebsk Region, Anatoly Linevich, during a visit to the enterprise.

Anatoly Linevich was told about the development of the plant, he familiarized himself with the production and communicated with the employees. According to the President's Aide - Inspector for the Vitebsk Region, he decided to visit "Monolit" to learn more about the enterprise, which is not slowing down its pace in this difficult year. "The plant is working stably in the current conditions, as somewhere connections are lost, productivity and revenue are decreasing due to the pandemic. But "Monolit" consistently pays taxes, according to people, they are satisfied with the conditions and wages. The management is not standing still and is modernizing production," noted Anatoly Linevich. He added that the Vitebsk plant is a good example of the coordinated work of two owners - the state and a private entity.

The director of the enterprise, Alexander Shumakher, said that 97% of the products are exported to Russia. Its consumer is the military industry. For January-September, the net profit of the enterprise exceeded Br3.1 million. "Because our state did not close itself off from the world during the coronavirus, work continued at the enterprise. We started receiving more orders, and production volumes increased by about 50% compared to the nine months of last year," added the director. New sales markets were also opened - Azerbaijan and India.

Currently, the plant produces 2 million units of products. With increasing demand, they can increase production to 5 million, working in two shifts with the involvement of new specialists. Next year, "Monolit" intends to master the production of dielectrics with a thickness of 10 microns and thinner. This is dictated by the market and global practice.

During a conversation with the President's Aide - Inspector for the Vitebsk Region, the team voiced their production problems. In particular, Director Alexander Shumakher complained that "Monolit" is the only plant in Belarus that produces capacitors. They are used in all electronics, but domestic companies prefer to buy Chinese ones due to their lower cost, sacrificing quality and durability of parts. An enterprise specialist touched upon another issue: Belarusian requirements for the production of components for the military industry are outdated. They have been in effect since Soviet times and need to be adapted to the present day. Anatoly Linevich promised to address these issues with the relevant departments.
