Anonymous offices will appear in 2010 in all districts of the Vitebsk region

February 16, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. Anonymous dermatovenerological dispensaries will appear in all districts of the Vitebsk region in 2010. This was announced today by the chief physician of the Vitebsk Regional Clinical Dermatovenerological Dispensary Viktor Spiridonov at a press conference dedicated to the Unified Health Day "Prevention of Sexually Transmitted Infections," which is held on February 18, reports a BELTA correspondent. Currently, such dispensaries are already operating in the regional center, in Orsha, Polotsk, Novopolotsk, Glubokoye, Braslav, Postavy, Lepel, Gorodok. Last year alone, more than 13,000 people sought help there, and 5,000 of them were diagnosed with some kind of disease. This indicates the effectiveness of such structures, emphasized the chief physician. Viktor Spiridonov also noted that the opening of dispensaries, where anyone can undergo an anonymous examination on a paid basis, has significantly contributed to increasing the accessibility of specialized care, changing the negative attitude of the population, especially young people, towards the treatment of venereal diseases, and has also erected a reliable barrier against shadow venereology, when people seek treatment from folk healers or dubious specialists. -0-
