An anti-drug youth squad will appear in the Vitebsk region

An anti-drug youth law enforcement unit will be established in the Vitebsk region, as reported by Dmitry Turoнок, the second secretary of the regional committee of the BRSM.

A ceremony dedicated to the Day of Youth Law Enforcement Units (MOOP) will be held at the Department of Internal Affairs of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee on February 7. The main event will be an open dialogue "New Areas of MOOP Activity: Development and Prospects," which will mark the launch of the first anti-drug unit in the region. "It is formed from MOOP members of educational institutions in Vitebsk and will engage in advocacy work, including on social media, to prevent the spread of drug addiction and the use of smoking mixtures containing narcotic substances," explained Dmitry Turoнок.

Also, at the ceremony, the best young police assistants, employees of internal affairs bodies and the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and winners of the annual regional competition for the best MOOP and the best MOOP headquarters will be awarded. Currently, 146 units operate in the Vitebsk region, comprising over 2.2 thousand people. Together with law enforcement officers and rescuers, they ensure public order, engage in preventive work on life safety, and implement their own projects.

The professional holiday for MOOP participants was established by the BRSM in 2012 and is celebrated annually on February 6. Traditionally, during the first week of February, presentations of the activities of youth law enforcement units, ceremonies, and honors for the best activists of the movement are held across the country.
