Pharmacies of Vitebsk UP "Farmatsiya" have hired about fifty young specialists

Аптеки Витебского УП «Фармация» приняли около полусотни молодых специалистов

The pharmacy network of the Vitebsk Unitary Enterprise "Farmatsiya" hired almost fifty new employees this year, including 35 pharmacists after graduating from VGMU and 9 pharmacists – graduates of secondary specialized educational institutions, who have been assigned to all districts of the region. They are currently undergoing practical training as interns, and from the new year they will be solemnly accepted into the ranks of young specialists.

It is worth noting that wherever a recent graduate is assigned, they will receive support from the employer. The organization provides many bonuses for young specialists, which can smooth over any inconveniences. The collective agreement has a whole section dedicated to the social protection of youth. Thus, upon hiring, a recent graduate receives financial assistance in the amount of one month's scholarship.

– Special attention is paid to those sent to rural areas. In particular, their salary is increased by 20%, and those who arrive at their first place of work are entitled to material assistance once a year in the amount of 10 basic units, – emphasizes the chairman of the trade union committee of Vitebsk UP "Farmatsiya" Galina Mandrikova.

Beginners are also helped with housing issues: the cost of a dormitory place or rented housing is paid in full. If an employee lives outside their place of work, travel expenses are also compensated.

Among the young people working in the provinces is Daria Dragun. Almost a year ago, after graduating from the Vitebsk State Medical University, she was assigned to Dokshitsy and is now working as a dispensing pharmacist at the central pharmacy. The girl is originally from Sharkovshchina, she did her internship in the regional center, but, she admits, it is still easier to start a career in small towns. Here the flow of visitors is smaller, the pace of work is calmer and more measured, and people practically know each other, so they may be friendlier to newcomers and more understanding if a young employee gets confused by the huge assortment of drugs.

However, Daria had no fear of customers; she learned to communicate easily with people while working as a waitress in a cafe during her student years. What caused her anxiety was something else: how to ask the right questions to narrow down the required medications, what to offer, what dosages and dosage forms would be best, and what alternative medications to recommend. Pregnant women, children, and people with chronic illnesses require special caution, so the novice pharmacist would not hesitate to consult the documentation to ensure the correctness of her choice. Her senior colleagues would also always offer valuable advice. The young specialist is also wary of self-medication, to which pharmacy customers are sometimes prone when seeking advice from a pharmacist. It's one thing if a person needs something for a cold, and quite another if they complain of, for example, heart pain. In the latter case, Daria has an unwavering rule: first, direct such a client to a doctor, rather than taking on the treatment and responsibility for the person's life and health. It is important not to harm, but to help, the young woman is convinced, speaking about her profession.

Of course, young people need not only to work but also to rest, create, and realize their potential, which the trade union committee of "Farmatsiya" also supports the young generation in. In particular, Daria Dragun has been fond of singing since childhood, so why not represent the work collective in various local concert programs? She also tried her luck in the district qualifying round of the republican competition "New Voices of Belarus."

This summer, two more graduates of the pharmaceutical faculty of VGMU will be assigned to Dokshitsy, and they will receive the status of young specialists from the beginning of next year. And there is no doubt: they will also be helped to settle into the new team and gain invaluable experience for successful work.
