An Austrian company is building a metallurgical plant in Miory
In Miory, everything is ready for the construction of a modern white tinplate plant. Several hundred people will work there, which means that jobs will be found for many local residents. As stated by Sergey Chaburanov, director of the limited liability company "MMPZ-Group", over 4 billion 200 million rubles have been invested in the preparation of the site. The main volume of work was carried out by meliorators. They removed fertile soil, which will later be used for landscaping the plant territory and the district center.
It is expected that in a week or two, a company from Kaunas will complete the design of the metallurgical plant. Another month, explains Sergey Yegorovich, will be needed for an environmental assessment. However, projects for electricity, water, and gas supply, access roads, and some others have already passed or are undergoing review. In May, tenders will be announced and held to determine the construction organization that will build the plant. Major Czech, Slovak, and Slovenian companies are showing interest.
The Austrian company "MMPZ GmbH", which has signed an agreement with the regional executive committee for the construction of the Miory Metallurgical Plant, is investing 200 million euros in the project: 50 million directly into construction and 150 million for technological equipment. The construction of production facilities is allocated 2 years, and the same amount for commissioning work. The plant is scheduled to be put into operation at the end of 2019.
As Sergey Chaburanov explains, according to the investment agreement, no less than 460 people will work at the enterprise. Its capacity is 150 thousand tons of white tinplate per year, which is in demand in both domestic and foreign markets.
