Gomelavia airline will launch air service between Vitebsk and Moscow from July 5
June 19, Vitebsk / Sergey Kochetov - BELTA/. Republican Unitary Enterprise "Gomelavia Airline" will open air service between Vitebsk and Moscow from July 5, the head of the Vitebsk branch of RUE "Belaeronavigatsiya" Sergey Ruris told a BELTA correspondent.
The Vitebsk - Moscow flight will be operated weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, departing from Vitebsk airport at 7:30 AM. Flights in the Moscow - Vitebsk direction are scheduled for Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday. The opportunity to cover the distance to the Russian capital in just 1 hour and 20 minutes will cost air passengers 50-70 euros one way. The ticket price for the flight is practically equivalent to the cost of a compartment seat on a train in the same direction, Sergey Ruris noted. The route will be served by an An-24 aircraft, designed to carry 48 passengers.
In addition, the possibilities of opening regular air service from Vitebsk airport to the southern regions of Russia (Simferopol, Sochi) are being worked out. Negotiations on the possibility of servicing these routes are underway with Russian and Italian airlines.
Vitebsk airport is located 10 km southeast of Vitebsk. The enterprise provides domestic air service, handles charter domestic and international passenger and cargo transportation. The airport is also in demand for transit flights of business aviation. In 1996, the airport received international status, suitable for operating aircraft of the Il-76, Tu-154, Boeing-737 and Boeing-757-200, A-310-200 types. -0-
