A road bridge across the Western Dvina appeared in Beshenkovichi

It was erected by servicemen of the 259th Separate Mobile Railway Restoration Battalion of the 30th Separate Red Banner Railway Brigade. The length is 184 meters, the roadway width is 4 meters, and the load capacity is 40 tons.

– The bridge construction was carried out within the framework of the state program "Roads of Belarus," – says Sergey Shumilov, Head of the Department for Development, Maintenance of Roads, and Road Traffic Safety of Vitebskoblodorstroy State Enterprise. – If last year it was exclusively pedestrian, so as not to interfere with the movement of barges with sand to the power station under construction on the Daugava River, then this year it has been restored to its usual format.

The bridge will shorten detour routes for agricultural machinery and vehicles by up to 100 kilometers and will allow for prompt resolution of issues related to ensuring the life support of the right bank of Beshenkovichi.
According to Sergey Viktorovich, this is the only pontoon bridge in the region. In Miory district, there is a seasonal ferry crossing serviced by road workers.
And in Vitebsk district, in the village of Surazh, there is a similar one, maintained by the housing and communal services.
