The first stage of the Belarusian Autocross Championship will take place during the traditional race of car racers in memory of M.F. Shmyrev in Vitebsk, as reported to a BELTA correspondent by the chairman of the Vitebsk regional organizational structure of DOSAAF, Vasily Korobov.

The competitions will be held on April 26-27 on the autodrome in Tulovo. More than 50 of the strongest car racers of different ages from Belarus and Russia (teams from Smolensk and Tver regions) will take part, competing in various car classes depending on engine displacement. The final races of the participants will take place on April 26 in the "National", "D-1" classes, and on April 27 in the "D1-Junior", "D-2", and "D3-Sprint" classes.

The award ceremony for the autocross winners will take place on April 27 after the completion of all races.

"The event has been held for almost 30 years and is popular among the city residents, especially the youth. This year, in addition to an expanded list of participants, we expect a significant number of spectators - 3-5 thousand people," noted Vasily Korobov.

He also added that on May 17, a motocross dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders will be held on the same track, which promises to be an equally spectacular event in the sports life of the Vitebsk region.

The event is organized by DOSAAF with the assistance of the Belarusian Automobile Federation.
