Women's perspective on Indian summer is presented in original compositions at an exhibition in Vitebsk
September 18, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. Female vision of Indian summer is presented by artists at an exhibition in the Vitebsk Art Museum, the cultural institution informed a BELTA correspondent.
The exhibition, titled "Indian Summer," features about 50 paintings and floral compositions by 16 female artists from Vitebsk. The majority of the works, executed in cold, gloomy colors, reflect sad landscapes and views of cities or villages where autumn is already in full swing. A small series of paintings and compositions made of natural materials stands out. Saturated with bright blue and emerald green sheen, they only hint at the golden season with minor details. Even a bouquet of ripe rowan berries here is just a harbinger of early autumn.
A separate mention should be made of the few works dedicated to Indian summer in women's lives. The theme, which the artists could not ignore, was embodied by them in original compositions.
The exhibition, which opened today in the regional center, will run until October 10. -0-
