A kayak will be the main mode of transport on a new tourist route in the Vitebsk region
August 15, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. Kayaks will be the main mode of transport for Russian and Latvian tour operators during their trip around the Vitebsk region. The promotional tour for active recreation organizers will start on August 16, the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee's Department of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism told a BELTA correspondent.
The route will run through the territories of Vitebsk, Polotsk, Braslav, Glubokoye districts, as well as through the cities of Vitebsk, Polotsk, Braslav, Glubokoye. The program includes sightseeing bus and walking tours, but the main part is kayaking trips on the lakes and rivers of the Pozerie region. During the four-day trip, participants will have to paddle three times. In addition, the tour participants will take part in the opening of the III Festival of Medieval Culture "Mech Brachislava" in Braslav, a presentation of water tourist routes of the Glubokoye district will be held for them, including the "Belarusian Venice" route and a kayak trip. The journey will conclude on August 19 with a horseback ride.
Such a rich program is due to the demand for active recreation, specialists explained. It is no secret that the main part of tourists visiting the region are people over 40 years old, for whom so-called nostalgic tourism is of interest, while the niche of youth recreation remains vacant. The program of this tour is designed specifically for this category of travelers.
The department has no doubt that the new route will be in demand; it is enough to say that not all interested companies could take part in the promotional tour. 22 representatives of travel agencies from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Vladimir, Tula, Smolensk, and Daugavpils will embark on the first journey. -0-
