Balconies in old buildings in Belarus will be inventoried nationwide
June 25, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. An inventory of balconies in all old buildings will soon be carried out in Belarus, as reported today at a meeting of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee by the Minister of Housing and Communal Services of Belarus Vladimir Belokhvostov, BELTA correspondent reports.
Currently, the ministry is preparing proposals for the inspection and certification of balconies in large-panel buildings (KPD) of mass series, as well as standard projects for strengthening load-bearing structures and replacing railings. This measure will help avoid accidents related to balcony collapses, the minister believes.
The wear and tear of balcony and loggia structures is one of the 27 factors that directly affect people's safety in the housing and communal services system. The first and most dangerous is the redevelopment of apartments. The second factor Vladimir Belokhvostov named apartments and houses where antisocial elements gather. According to him, there are 4.5 thousand dens in the republic, a sixth of which are located in the Vitebsk region. The third place in the danger rating is occupied by attractions in amusement parks. -0-
