Банк развития подарит Витебской области 10 новых школьных автобусов
The Development Bank will gift 10 new MAZ school buses to the Vitebsk region, as reported by Sergey Orekhov, Deputy Head of the Education Department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.

The handover of the buses will take place today. "After the paperwork is completed, the vehicles will immediately depart from Minsk to the districts designated by the Education Department: Beshenkovichi, Glubokoye, Dokshitsy, Dubrovno, Lepel, Orsha, Sennno, Tolochin, Ushachi, and Chashniki. Considering the additions and the decommissioning of old vehicles, the fleet for transporting students in rural areas to and from their places of study will comprise 229 units. The region's need for such vehicles is almost entirely met," Sergey Orekhov added.

He explained that the new buses, with a capacity of 22 seats, are specially equipped: they feature additional safety systems for children and the driver, flashing beacons, external public address system, a retractable step, and other structural and technical features. The allocation of new transport became possible thanks to the "School Bus" program implemented by the Development Bank, which provides for the acquisition of at least 300 specially equipped school buses within 2013-2017 using the bank's funds.

In 2013-2014, the Development Bank purchased 132 buses and distributed 22 units to each region. The program also included the purchase of 3 buses for transporting children with psychophysical development disorders. These vehicles were transferred to the centers for correctional and developmental education and rehabilitation in the Vitebsk, Gomel, and Mogilev regions. The Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus OJSC is a specialized financial institution founded by the Council of Ministers and the National Bank of Belarus. Among the main tasks set for the bank is the financing of long-term and capital-intensive investment projects within the framework of state programs and measures.
