The Development Bank will issue a loan of up to $43.6 million for the reconstruction of Orsha Airport
The Council of Ministers has approved the Development Bank of Belarus issuing loans to the National Airport Minsk in 2019 for the implementation of investment projects. This is stipulated by the government decree of January 22, 2019, No. 42, which is officially published on the National Legal Internet Portal.
The National Airport Minsk will be issued a loan in an amount not exceeding $43.6 million for the reconstruction of the Orsha airfield with capital repairs of the existing runway, reconstruction of taxiways, and construction of auxiliary facilities. In addition, for the construction of a second artificial runway with auxiliary facilities at the National Airport Minsk, the Development Bank will issue loans in amounts not exceeding $15 million. The loans will be issued at 7.05% per annum. The document specifies that 65% of the amount of interest paid will be covered by the republican budget and 35% by the funds of the state extra-budgetary civil aviation fund and the extra-budgetary centralized investment fund of the Ministry of Transport and Communications.
The decree was adopted in accordance with the order of the President of March 9, 2017, No. 36rp "On financing the construction and reconstruction of runways".
