The Vitebsk region's job bank lists about 3,000 vacancies
Inaction is the worst helper in difficult life situations. And a job fair is one of the chances in the job search.
In the Vitebsk region, the job bank, based on employer applications, has about 3,000 vacancies, 360 of which are in Orshanshchina. Meanwhile, there are 1100 unemployed people registered with the department of labor, employment and social protection of the district executive committee today. In such a situation, job fairs are a real chance to find a job.
In Orsha, this time they were divided into sections according to their profile. On March 20, HR specialists from 6 leading light industry enterprises of the city held a meeting with job seekers. Such enterprises as Orsha Linen Mill, Dynamo Program Orsha, Artistic Crafts Factory, Svitank, Nit, Monolit PDM, always have employment offers.
"It is noteworthy that in Orsha, the number of vacancies is commensurate with the number of specialists needed," said Irina Matveeva, Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Labor, Employment and Social Protection of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee. "But for some reason, an unemployed person of the required qualification and profile does not always reach the employer, and the employer, in turn, cannot sufficiently interest a potential employee. That is why such fairs are needed so that the two sides find each other."
Measures for resettlement have also been developed, providing housing and financial assistance for those who have found suitable work far from their place of residence. By the way, in our region, more people use this opportunity than in other regions of the country. As for the need for certain specialists, today it is not janitors and security guards, but qualified personnel: doctors, engineers, nurses, seamstresses, welders. The Vitebsk region's job bank is replenished with new offers. The wage level varies, and a plan has been developed to reach the salary level announced by the President by December.
Approximately 50 unemployed individuals attended a job fair for the textile and garment industry. Here, they not only familiarized themselves with employer offerings but also learned current information on public employment services, job search technologies, and resume writing.
Each visitor had the opportunity to meet with enterprise management, review informational materials on company structure and production processes, and undergo interviews. Everyone agreed that inaction is the worst aid in difficult life situations. The job fair was viewed as one of the chances in the job search.
– This is a unique platform where job seekers and employers can directly discuss working conditions and undergo several mini-interviews in one day, – noted Tatyana Zakharova, Head of the Department of Labor, Employment, and Social Protection of the District Executive Committee. – If, out of the fifty attendees today, at least 10 find employment, that's already a huge plus for such events. Without exaggeration, I can say that colossal work is being done in Orsha in this direction. It's not just about filling out forms and accepting documents. It involves a detailed study of a person's qualifications, work experience, abilities, skills, and preferences.
Until April 4, job fairs will be held in Orsha for the following sectors: "Agriculture and Transport," "Machine Tool Building and Metalworking," "Trade and Public Catering," "Education, Healthcare, Culture."
