The Bath Spartakiad will be held in the Polotsk district

The competition will launch the project "Famous Bathhouses of the Polotsk Land," the Ideological Work Department of the Polotsk District Executive Committee informed a BELTA correspondent. The agro-ecotourism estate "Khutor u Krenitsy" in the village of Vladychino has been chosen as the meeting place for lovers of hot steam and strong bath brooms. The local bathhouse will temporarily turn into a kind of stadium where competitions will be held in three categories: for the longest stay in the steam room, for the most avid bather, and for plunging into a pool with ice water. Saturday, January 30, has been chosen as the competition day. Participants' preparation has already begun, because a real bathhouse is not a foreign sauna or hammam. Here, as in sports, you cannot achieve victory without training, so local bathhouse enthusiast clubs, and there are five of them in the district, have already started preparing their bather-athletes. Before the competition, all participants will have to undergo a medical examination, and independent experts will monitor their condition during the competition. Winners, as expected, will receive awards: diplomas and valuable gifts. The initiative to hold the competition belongs to the owners of Polotsk agro-ecotourism estates and bathhouse enthusiasts. The idea was supported by the Polotsk District Executive Committee, which acted as one of the organizers. Such unusual competitions can not only promote a healthy lifestyle but also become good advertising for rural tourism, and allow for the exchange of experience in organizing leisure activities and providing services, the district executive committee believes. In addition, it is planned to create an unusual tourist route in the district - "Famous Bathhouses of the Polotsk Land." -0-
