"White Rus" congratulated newborns of Vitebsk region born on Independence Day

«Белая Русь» поздравила новорожденных Витебщины, появившихся на свет в День Независимости

While festive fireworks and celebrations marking the anniversary of the liberation of our region from Nazi invaders echoed across the country on July 3, approximately 40 babies announced their arrival with their first cries in the region's maternity hospitals, 14 of whom were born in Vitebsk.

The very next day, representatives of the local authorities and the public organization "Belaya Rus" congratulated the happy mothers on the birth of their children on such a significant date and presented them with gifts as part of the annual nationwide campaign "Belaya Rus" – with love for children".

Newly made mothers were congratulated by Vladimir Terentyev, Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee. On behalf of the region's leadership, the public organization of which he is a member, and as a father of two sons, he wished the new residents of the Vitebsk region health, happiness, and well-being.

– Your children are especially lucky to be born on such a wonderful holiday, – said Vladimir Vladimirovich. – There is nothing better in life than the birth of a child. Much attention is paid to this issue in the region. The demographic security program for 2011-2015 has been developed and is in effect. It is gratifying to note that last year more than 14,000 children were born in the Vitebsk region, which is 300 more than in 2012. Over the past 4 years, the number of first-graders in the schools of the Dvina region has been steadily increasing.

Among those born on July 3 this year are practically all firstborns, both girls and boys. By the way, some parents chose the names Alexey and Alexander for their sons, which translates from Greek as

"defender". And this is especially symbolic in the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders.

For example, for Olga Lyashkova, the arrival of an heir in the family is a joyful and long-awaited event, and the fact that his birth coincided with a red-letter day on the calendar is doubly pleasant. They named their son Alexey. For now, the couple lives in a dormitory in the regional center, but they hope to build an apartment in Novka, Vitebsk region, where the husband is from, in the future.

On the same day, five gifts from the organizers of the event found their owners in the regional clinical maternity hospital. The head of the healthcare department of the regional executive committee, Yuri Derkach, who also took part in honoring the young mothers and their children, noted that in the first 6 months of this year, 6,328 babies were born, which is 103 more than in the same period last year.

By the way, this event is being held in the region for the sixth time. The children who were the first to be congratulated on their birth on Independence Day will go to school this year, and

"Belaya Rus" is also preparing pleasant surprises for its wards among other first-graders in the region.
