In mid-October, the Ukrainian government adopted a protocol decision on pumping a trial batch of Venezuelan oil for the Mozyr oil refinery using the Odessa-Brody and Druzhba main oil pipelines. According to forecasts by the Ukrainian Ministry of Fuel and Energy, the trial pumping of oil for Belarus in the forward mode in the volume of about 80 thousand tons will take place in November.
Earlier, the head of the Ukrainian Ministry of Transport announced the possibility of switching the Odessa-Brody main oil pipeline to forward operation mode if Belarus guarantees annual pumping of at least 9 million tons of oil per year through it. Currently, the Ukrainian railway is used for the transit of Venezuelan oil to Belarus.
The Odessa-Brody oil pipeline is part of the Euro-Asian oil transportation corridor. It was commissioned in May 2002. Odessa-Brody connects the Yuzhny main oil pipeline and the main pumping station Brody. The length of the oil pipeline is 674 km, the diameter is 1020 mm. The capacity of the first stage of the main pipeline is designed for 14.5 million tons per year, and the second stage - for 45 million tons per year. -0-
