Belarus has every reason to overcome the crisis and quickly restore the population's income level - FNPR
June 30, Minsk /Corr. BELTA/. Belarus has all grounds for overcoming the crisis and quickly restoring the population's income level. This was stated today at an expanded meeting of the Presidium of the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus (PTUB) by its chairman Leonid Kozik, BELTA correspondent reports.
"The republic has grounds for the quickest restoration of the population's income level, as the gross domestic product growth rate for January-May of the current year was 112.5% against the plan of 109-110%, labor productivity - 112%, investment in fixed assets - 131%, export of goods and services - 149.3% for January-April against the planned 116.4%," said the head of the PTUB.
Leonid Kozik called on social partners at all levels to join forces for a swift exit from the current situation.
The head of the PTUB also emphasized that the Council of the Federation of Trade Unions calls on the government, heads of executive authorities and employers at all levels not to allow the resolution of socio-economic problems solely at the expense of the population.
He considers it necessary to create a Center for Strategic Development of Belarus on the basis of existing economic institutions, which will help analyze the processes occurring in the economy, eliminate possible negative consequences of adopted decisions, and determine modern trends and strategies for the country's development. Also, according to Leonid Kozik, the government and heads of organizations should provide targeted material support to parents with school-aged children.-0-
