Belarus has begun preparing the draft program for socio-economic development for 2011-2015
April 2, Minsk / Olga Belyavskaya - BELTA /. Belarus has begun preparing a draft program for socio-economic development for 2011-2015, said Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich at a seminar "State and prospects of science development. The link between academic science and production" held at the Council of the Republic today, BELTA correspondent reports.
According to Mikhail Myasnikovich, the main approaches to the formation of the program should be determined in the near future. "These approaches should be considered and approved as soon as possible so that both the budget and the socio-economic development forecast take into account all new trends by 2011," said the head of the Academy of Sciences. "At the same time, it is important not to miss 2011, so as not to be in a stupor at the end of next year."
Mikhail Myasnikovich also announced that the NAS has developed a strategy for conducting scientific research in Belarus, designed until 2015. It has been reviewed by the general meeting of the Academy of Sciences. Together with ministries and departments, work is being completed on the priorities of scientific and technical activities, which will be submitted for approval to the President and will form the basis of state comprehensive scientific and technical programs for the next five-year period.
"Today, projects in bio- and space technologies, medicine, information and communication environment, and others are becoming truly profitable," noted Mikhail Myasnikovich. "Our main task is to introduce production in these areas into the real economy, to create intellectual conditions, infrastructure, and legal methods for the rapid development of innovative production business." -0-
